STUDENTS POSITIONS (4)- TEMPORARY FULL TIME PROGRAMS AMBASSADOR

JOB OBJECTIVES:
Under the general supervision of the Housing & Public Works Manager or Designate, Student will assist within the Kitasoo Band Programs and Departments to enhance employability skills, gain new and develop existing skills.
Duration of Employment and Hourly Wage: $15.20/hr. Wages will be paid on a per hour basis. This posting is for approximately full time hours with a schedule from June 28, 2021 – August 13, 2021.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Covid-19 awareness & safety;
b. Student will be responsible for assisting and participating in maintaining upkeep of Band Department Facilities, ensure clear access to Band Buildings, assist with roads and ditches, Trail Clearing, Community Beautification including brush cutting and cleaning beaches and trails, Emptying garbage receptacles, Composting, Gardening, Recycling, Climate Action supports of energy efficiency, outside upkeep of band buildings and elders homes, assist with building of small projects, community recreational activities, community outreach, assist with coordinating safe learning activities and community challenges, administrative duties and other band programs responsibilities;
c. Comply with the provisions of the Operations Manual;
d. Adhere to the Code of Conduct as contained in the Operations Manual;
e. Carry out the instructions of the Supervisor that is relevant to the position and as provided from time to time;
f. Encourage and foster a team spirit within the First Nation office and operations in general.

REQUIREMENTS:
Eligible participants are First Nations and Inuit secondary and post-secondary students aged 15 to 30 years old ordinarily resident on reserve or in recognized communities or on community lands, who were registered as full- time students during the preceding academic year and who intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 Ability to work independently and as a team player;
 Ability to share their new found skills and knowledge with their friends and family in the community.
