Kitasoo Community School (KCS) is a First Nations School Association accredited school that provides education for the community’s students from K-12. At approximately 50 students, our school is a small and tightly-knit community. KCS is an important part of life in Klemtu and often hosts special events for families and community members, such as our annual school camping expedition to Marvin Island. We are governed by the Kitasoo Education Authority and work with the Kitasoo Xai’xais Nation Council to ensure our school is allowing our students to become responsible and contributing members of our community who are grounded in their heritage and identity as members of the Kitasoo Xai’xais Nation and ready to take on the world.

The school is modern (construction/renovation in ’98) and fully-equipped. We offer small class sizes and have teaching aides in most classrooms. We have a small library, home economics and crafts facilities, a 3/4 size gym, and an up-to-date computer lab. Our school uses a variety of digital learning platforms, including Google Apps for Education, and (at the high school level) Connected Classrooms.
