SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Child Care Centre Supervisor is in charge of the day to day operation of the Kitasoo/Xai’Xais Child Care
Centre, manages and administers the budget allocated to the Child Care Centre, supervises and provides guidance
to all personnel working at the Child Care Centre and is responsible for all aspects of the implementation of
Programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
KXCCC Supervisor will collaborate closely with the goals and curriculum plans of the Programs, policies of the
Nation while keeping in compliance with Child Care Licensing Regulation. Successful reference checks, including
employment, education and credential verification. Minimum of three (3) years of management in Early
Childhood.

REQUIREMENTS:
 Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Education Certificate with Infant/Toddler Specialization per
Community Care Facility Act licensing requirements;
 Experienced and knowledgeable in Reggio Emilia philosophy and programming;
 Valid child safety first-aid certificate;
 Valid class 5 driver’s license;
 Tuberculosis test and proof of immunization;
 Updated immunization booster;
 Clear Criminal Record Check;
 Food Safe Certificate;
 Experience working with First Nation children and communities;
 Physician clearance to work with children;
 Two recent references;
 Ability to organize, motivate, delegate, supervise and coordinate personnel;
 Ability to formulate and administer programs with budgets;
 Confidential, caring, nurturing and dependable;
 Good problem solving and decision-making skills;
 Knowledge of child care, daycare and head start funding and reporting;
