Position Overview:
The Electrician supports residential construction projects by installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in compliance with Red Seal Occupational Standards and the Canadian Electrical Code, and applicable provincial and municipal regulations.
Location: Klemtu, BC
Wage: $50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
•Install, maintain, and repair residential electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, control equipment, and system upgrades
•Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, and work plans to ensure accurate installation and compliance
•Perform rough-in and finish electrical work for new construction, renovations, and upgrades in accordance with project schedules
•Test electrical systems, circuits, and continuity using approved testing devices to verify safety, functionality, and code compliance
•Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical faults, equipment failures, and system malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner
•Install and service lighting systems, receptacles, switches, breakers, service panels, and related electrical components
•Ensure proper grounding, bonding, circuit distribution, and load balancing for all electrical systems
•Inspect completed work to identify hazards, defects, or code violations and correct deficiencies
•Ensure all electrical work meets Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) standards, safety regulations, and inspection requirements
•Prepare electrical installations for inspections and address any issues identified by inspectors
•Identify material, tools, and equipment needs and report shortages, defects, or delays to supervisors
•Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with occupational health and safety standards
•Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and WorkSafeBC requirements
•Properly use, care for, and maintain tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
•Coordinate electrical work with project managers, carpenters, plumbers, and other trades to meet project timelines
•Communicate progress, technical issues, scheduling needs, and safety concerns clearly and professionally
•Interact respectfully and professionally with homeowners, contractors, inspectors, and community members
•Provide guidance, support, and oversight to apprentices or junior workers when required
Qualifications:
•Red Seal Electrician certification required
•Proven experience in residential electrical installation and maintenance
•Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
•Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents
•Experience using electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions as part of a team
•Must supply own hand tools and required PPE
•Ability to work in a remote location and coastal weather conditions.

•Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
•Valid driver’s license is required.
