Position Overview:
The Plumber / Gas Fitter supports residential housing construction and renovation projects in the remote community of Klemtu, British Columbia by performing plumbing and gas fitting installation, maintenance, and repair work in accordance with Red Seal Occupational Standards, Technical Safety BC requirements, applicable plumbing and gas codes, and established safety and quality standards.
Location: Klemtu, BC
Wage: $50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform residential plumbing and gas fitting work including installation, maintenance, and repair
of water supply,
drainage, waste, venting, and gas piping systems
• Install, connect, and service residential gas-fired appliances such as furnaces, boilers, water
heaters, ranges, dryers, and related equipment
• Read and interpret residential construction drawings, specifications, work plans, and technical
instructions to
ensure accurate installation
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install piping systems, fittings, and fixtures using
appropriate materials and methods
• Ensure proper alignment, support, and secure installation of all piping systems and equipment
• Test plumbing and gas systems for leaks, pressure, flow, and performance to ensure safe operation
and code
compliance
• Inspect completed work to identify defects, deficiencies, or code violations and correct issues
as required
• Troubleshoot plumbing and gas system problems and assist in resolving on-site construction
challenges
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (where applicable), and testing devices in
accordance with training and safety guidelines
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free job sites throughout project execution
• Follow all workplace health and safety regulations, company policies, and PPE requirements at all
times
• Coordinate plumbing and gas fitting work with project managers, carpenters, electricians, and
other trades to meet
construction schedules
• Communicate progress, technical concerns, and material needs clearly with supervisors and team
members
• Identify material and equipment requirements and report shortages, defects, or delays
• Support quality control efforts and ensure high standards of workmanship
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager
Qualifications:
• Red Seal Plumber certification is required.
• Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program.
• Experience in residential construction, housing, or renovation projects.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Must supply own hand tools and required PPE.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to work in a remote location and coastal weather conditions.
• Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol while on shift.
