Kitasoo Xai’xais Child Care Centre provides care to children 0-6. We support parents as they raise the healthiest babies and children possible and help children who have disabilities or developmental delays to grow until they meet their full potential. We know kids grow and develop at different speeds and can help parents to notice if their little ones are having difficulty grasping skills.
There are many skills a child might have trouble with, such as:

Kitasoo Xai’Xais Child Care Centre can help your child learn new skills to move past these challenges by offering you and your child Aboriginal Headstart programs that encompasses six components:
These programs are licensed with distinct requirements; if parents have questions they can contact the Health Director. The program(s) are subsidized by the Health Program.
The supported child development component helps to determine the family and child’s needs and match these needs with resources if available in our community. This program provides support services to families with children from birth to preschool with extra support needs so that they can participate in an inclusive child care setting. Parents are involved in every step as key partners in their child’s success. Parents may contact the Child Care Centre directly or contact their local Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD) office for more information about this program.

The Infant Development Program (IDP) provides culturally relevant support and services to families of children up to school entry who have or are at risk of developmental delays. Participation in the IDP is voluntary and family-centered. Our goal is to increase the capacity of this program and directly support families and children by offering the following:
