The Kitasoo/Xai’xais Fire Department consists of all volunteer fire fighters. They train with their equipment to make sure it is in tip top shape in the event of an emergency and to get familiar with the equipment and procedures. The fire department has 2 operating fire trucks. Ryan Robinson, Shane Robinson and Spencer Mason are trained to operate the trucks.

In the event of an emergency, call one of the listed volunteer fire fighters on VHF Channel 6. The fire team requests that the community stay back 100 feet from a fire and to not block routes to the fire so they can get their truck in position to assist to their full capabilities. All community vehicles should stay clear of fire hydrants around town.

With the addition of another fire truck, the fire department is looking for more locals to volunteer.
