JOB OBJECTIVES:

Under the general supervision of Resource Stewardship Director or Designate, the student will assist within the
Kitasoo XaiXais Stewardship Authority to enhance employability skills in assisting in all Resource Stewardship
programs support, enhance new and existing skills and assist in overall activities of the department.
Duration of Employment and Hourly Wage: $14.60/hr. Wages will be paid on a per hour basis. This posting is
for approximately full time hours with a schedule from July 2, 2020 – July 31, 2020.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Covid-19 awareness and safety;
b. Student will be responsible for assisting and participating in all programs in the Stewardship Department and
throughout Kitasoo XaiXais territory including research monitoring, watchman daily activities, research
information gathering, data recording, language project activities, administrative tasks and community outreach
initiatives;
c. Comply with the provisions of the Operations Manual;
d. Adhere to the Code of Conduct as contained in the Operations Manual;
e. Carry out the instructions of the Supervisor that is relevant to the position and as provided from time to time;
f. Encourage and foster a team spirit within the First Nation office and operations in general.
REQUIREMENTS:
Eligible participants are First Nations and Inuit secondary and post-secondary students aged 15 to 30 years old
ordinarily resident on reserve or in recognized communities or on community lands, who were registered as full-
time students during the preceding academic year and who intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the
next academic year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Ability to work independently and as a team player;
 Ability to share their new found skills and knowledge with their friends and family in the community.
