JOB OBJECTIVES:
Student will assist within the Kitasoo Band Departments to enhance employability skills in maintenance responsibilities, enhance new and existing skills and assist in overall upkeep of Band Buildings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Student will be responsible for assisting in maintaining upkeep of Band Department Facilities, ensure clear access to Band Buildings, assist with road and ditches, Trail Clearing, Emptying garbage receptacles, Recycling, outside upkeep of band buildings and assist with building of small projects;
b. Comply with the provisions of the Operations Manual;
c. Adhere to the Code of Conduct as contained in the Operations Manual;
d. Carry out the instructions of the Supervisor that is relevant to the position and as provided from time to time;
e. Encourage and foster a team spirit within the First Nation office and operations in general.

REQUIREMENTS:
Eligible participants are First Nations and Inuit secondary and post-secondary students aged 15 to 30 years old ordinarily resident on reserve or in recognized communities or on community lands, who were registered as full-time students during the preceding academic year and who intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.

• Cooperation – Job requires being pleasant with others on the job, displaying a good nature and cooperative attitude;
• Attention to Detail – Job requires being careful about details and thorough in completing tasks.

DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT AND HOURLY WAGE:
$12.65/hour Monday – Friday. Wages paid on a per hour basis. This temporary position is for approximately full time hours with a schedule from (1st position) July 3 – August 29, 2018; (2nd position) July 3 to July 31, 2018.
